okay, i must say, dylan is just all around a better person than me, and i'm surprised he misspelled the word "barista" down there...his grammar is usually spot on.

Benji is such a cool guy, and he is better than me at barisa-ing, not to mention how good he skates.

Discovered Generator Coffee tonight and had a banana smoothie. Seemed like a nice and relaxed place. I'll def be back to visit with some people.

I agree, y'all should be more selective about what art you display. I like the couches but the one near the entrance, non-stage side could use some more support.

Trey should not DJ, ever. I hear one or more of these four songs every time he is working: 1. Yeah by Usher 2. Party in the USA by Miley Cyrus 3. Cupid Shuffle 4. techno remix of Cotton Eye Joe If he's not playing one of these songs, he's playing something else obnoxious, for example, Family Force 5. Not to downplay the importance of excellent coffee, but not many people know how distinguish a good cup from a great cup. The right environment will make your shop thrive. The soundscape is crucial in creating the environment. Trey is butchering the music side of the soundscape. Here are my suggestions: 1. Play the right genre. People generally don't come to coffee shops wanting to hear rap and pop. Sure, it's great to keep things interesting and play something different once in awhile. Or, if you know the customers you have at the moment will enjoy singing along to a song others might find annoying, play one. ONE. For example, if you have a large group of young girls, throw on that Miley Cyrus song. I'm not saying to keep your music in the realm of the expected. I'd rather you didn't. Your coffee shop will be cliche. But if you're going to put someone in charge who is going to play unexpected music, make sure they're going to play something that will enhance the environment and not drive people away! 2. Play it at the right volume. People come to the Generator talk, read, and study. Even good music can be a bad thing if it's loud enough that one can't concentrate on reading. 3. Watch your audience! A group of older ladies won't want to listen to the same music a group of hipsters would enjoy. As an aside, at no point in time has a group of older ladies wanted to hear sexually explicit rap, TREY. 4. Watch the radio. Be aware what's playing. For example, change stations when a music station starts a music commentary program. It's annoying to have someone talking to you over the radio when you're reading.

the generator has a lot of potential and i would like to see it flourish. but there are some things that are not coffeeshopesque. this including: the couches, they dont match and theyre really dusty. too much art that will never sell, the gen. should have a limit on the art because it feels really clustered, also the art is extremely expensive, maybe a limit? my last critique would be the baristas, i have gone multiple times to order a simple drink and they often dont know what it is. even though i love the generator, i think there could be some things that would improve it a lot. thanks for being fair trade.

We love Vietnamese style Iced Coffee. Ever since Pala Cafe closed down it's been great having you guys down town for a good place to go and have coffee; however, it would be great if you also served Iced Coffee Vietnamese style as well. You never know, it may expand your clientel. Sincerly, The Lopez Family
